Psalm 26:1-3

“Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the Lord: therefore I shall not slide.

Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.

For thy loving kindness is before mine eyes; and I have walked in thy truth.”

Every man or woman that professes to know Christ should cry these words before God. Every group of believers and every church should seek God’s face and ask His mercy as we kneel before His throne. Is there any who would dare to ask God to judge them today as David did in this Psalm? Is our integrity patterned after God’s? Have we trusted in Him so completely that we can present ourselves for His examination and ask Him to prove us? Do we love God and trust Him to control our hearts and footsteps?

If God were to ask us to leave everything behind and go on the Mission field would we go? Would we leave our families, homes and careers to do His bidding?

How much do we trust Him? We say we trust Him with our eternal soul but do we trust Him with our money, our children, or our future? When do we surrender EVERYTHING and give Him our lives?

For many the thought of giving God complete control over their lives is never even considered. We think a little prayer, an hour or two on Sunday when we feel like it and a few dollars in the offering plate is all there is to being a Christian. We’ll give Him enough to keep Him off our backs and we’ll go on as if He doesn’t exist. That is not SAVING FAITH. Living for Christ is not an option for the Christian. Salvation is a calling and a life changing experience that places us in the family of God. As His Sons and Daughters we are responsible to represent our Heavenly Father before a lost and dying world and to share the good news that the blood of Jesus Christ was sacrificed for all sinners. We must come by faith, believing in the work of Christ on the cross and surrendering everything to Him. Then, like David, we can say, “Judge me, examine me and prove me.”

If you’re interested in living a surrendered life and giving God the glory we would love to have you come and worship the Lord with us here at Weston. You will receive the love of the brethren, the Word of God and the fellowship of the saints. We look forward to ministering to you--
